LESSON ONE
In this lesson, students will learn the different ways in which audiences can access news. Students will open with an introductory activity and interview a classmate. Through this activity, students will learn about open-ended and closed questions.
In this lesson, students will develop their interview skills. The lesson begins with a 'funny headlines' creative activity. Students will then choose a member of school staff, such as a teacher or the principal, whom they will interview. Students will compose their own interview questions - a combination of open and close-ended questions.
In this lesson, students will convey their understanding of journalism by composing an article based on a 'Hot News' topic at their school. Students will submit their articles to the LIHS SNT website after editing their work. The students at LIHS news will choose their favourite article which will be posted on this website. Check back here in Term 4 to see the winning article.
